If you haven’t heard about Sophia Webster yet, LISTEN UP. The former assistant to Nicholas Kirkwood has gone out on her own to design a whimsical line of shoes and bags. But not JUST shoes and bags…really fun [and somewhat impractical] shoes and bags — THE BEST KIND.
Although I don’t personally own any Sophia Webster (yet) I have my eye on a few things (re: Hold Me clutch and Riko Sandals…wouldn’t mind having those around). I appreciate designers who have that “you shouldn’t take fashion so seriously” mentality and it’s clear in her designs Sophia is just that. With the cut-outs and curves seen in her collection, there’s definitely a hint of Kirkwood in there (which makes sense considering he was her mentor) BUT the best part is…her price point is much more reasonable. Shoes from her current collection range from $395 to $695 and bags from $450 to $995 for python. Not too shabby considering her highest price point is Kirkwood’s lowest (but I still love him…and always will).
