You know those things you never knew you needed until you discovered their existence? For me, it’s the Avo-Saver, texturizing spray and now, a summer trench.
What exactly is a summer trench? We’ll get to that in a moment, but what I can tell you is that I give it TWO THUMBS UP (also two thumbs up for the fact that your 5th burger or hot dog is FREE).
WHAT (am I wearing):
Cardigan: Soyer. Bodysuit: Fleur du Mal. Pants: Frame. Shoes: Celine. Sunglasses: Celine. Bracelet: c/o Monica Vinader. Earrings: Satomi Kawakita, Gabriela Artigas, Cursive. Rings: Dana Rebecca, Gabriela Artigas.
WHY (am I wearing it):
After my discovery of needing a summer trench (which honestly is just a duster cardigan sort of shaped like a trench), I couldn’t wait until it was warm enough to wear it. Because we’ve been getting one to two warm(ish) days a week, I knew my time window was short but doable. Now what to wear with said summer trench? I love the idea of a long layering piece like this (like my mystery garment) with flares…something about the proportions…I’m all about it. These Frame flares are beyond comfortable — they really just hold it all in (which I so appreciate). Instead of a shirt, I opted for a bodysuit. My usual long sleeve Margiela would have probably been more appropriate for the time of year but I’m so obsessed with this Fleur du Mal variety (that high neck with the open back…good, right?) I brought it out a little early. And I thought I’d give 2002 Jena some love by pairing those flares with platform sandals. Clear braces, mall-going, Abercrombie enthusiast Jena would so appreciate this combo (and present-day Jena digs it too).
