2014 Met Gala Red Carpet (Part 1)

Of any posts here on ChiCityFashion, there’s nothing I look forward to more than writing about a red carpet event. But when it comes to something as fashion-focused as the Met Gala, I’m pretty much freaking out for weeks in advance (and I don’t even go to this thing).

So last night was the big night. We saw a lot of crop tops, dramatic backs and my predictions were oh-so-wrong (with one exception). Kind of a bummer that Amanda Seyfried and Jennifer Lawrence didn’t show up. I always look forward to seeing what they’ll wear (and unfortunately I wasn’t either of their understudies for this particular event) but we still have 87 looks to judge. Yes, 87. Take a deep breath and…let’s go.

Met Ball Predictions

Predicting who will win what is just not where it’s at anymore — it’s who will WEAR what that’s right now (or really just what I care about). Although I did have a little fun with who might win the CFDA Awards (we’ll get the results in exactly one month from today), it’s almost that time of year again — what most fashion folks would say is the BEST time of the year (because it is) — the Met Ball is just around the corner.

Emma Watson

The only time I really enjoy writing about celebrity fashion is during red carpet season. You won’t find too many “how to get [insert celebrity name here]’s look from [insert some event here]” posts on ChiCityFashion. But every once in a while, there’s someone who really sticks out to me and I just have to discuss their fantastic style, what they’re doing right, and why they’ve become such a fashion icon. So let’s talk about Emma Watson…

Red Carpet Fashion: 2014 Oscars (Part 1)

I’d like to thank the Academy everyone’s stylists for not disappointing last night. Although I wasn’t absolutely freaking out over anyone’s look, I didn’t totally hate anyone’s look either…and that’s quite the rare occasion.

As per usual, we saw a lot of embellishments, neutrals, embellished neutrals and just for fun a few pastels. As well as Jennifer Lawrence falling…yet again.
