Odd title for a personal style post, right? It can go one of two ways — one is that my photog Dan found this weird alley in Bucktown that’s painted circus-themed so naturally we decided to take photos there, and two is that I too can be considered a freak show.
With the Met Ball coming up (which happens to be my favorite red carpet event of the year) and the Costume Institute exhibition PUNK: Chaos to Couture starting soon, it was only natural for this to happen.
Whenever the question “what’s your sign?” arises, I’m sure you’ve always thought to yourself “hmm I wish I had some kind of accessory to enhance my answer.” And of course none other than Charlotte Olympia has already thought of this.
Clear accessories, especially handbags, are a photographer’s dream during fashion week. Although I can’t recommend wearing one if you carry your life with you on a daily basis, there are ways to do see-through right. Whether it be a bag, sunglasses or even a jacket, this trend can either be your best friend (see below) or your worst enemy (ie. stripper heels).
Holiday season after holiday season, we are bombarded with sequins and dresses (and sequin dresses) and there’s only so much you can do with either. I was feeling inspired yesterday after this feature on SheFinds (not just because I was included…shameless plug). Dressing up for the holidays can either be intimidating or super fun. The fun part happens when you think outside of the box. And what’s more outside the box than a Christmas pudding suede and patent leather clutch?
