Accessory designers Meredith and Wendell German are hosting a trunk show for their line Meredith Wendell this Saturday at space519.

I first discovered Meredith Wendell at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week’s first ever accessories bazaar  (took this photo of their collection while I was there) and with the brand’s use of bright colors, I was immediately hooked…and you will be too. So stop by space519 at the 900 Shops this Saturday to check it out!

Wine Riot Giveaway

Love wine? Live in Chicago? (or can get here quickly) then I suggest you keep reading.

As a wine enthusiast myself I’m really excited to attend Wine Riot this weekend at Union Station. Wine Riot is a unique wine event created by wine lovers who wanted a more fun environment for tastings. With a DJ, photobooth and more, this is far from your ordinary wine tasting. The coolest part? They have a mobile app where you can keep track of the wines you like throughout the event. I personally always forget the wines I end up liking (all I know is I love Cab) so I’m especially pumped about that aspect.

So why am I telling you all this? Second Glass (who puts on Wine Riot) is giving away a pair of tickets to this weekend’s event! This will be the first ever 24-hour giveaway on ChiCityFashion, so be sure to take full advantage. Here’s how to enter:

1. “Like” Second Glass on Facebook.
2. Like  wine (duh)
3. Leave me a comment below telling me whatever you feel like telling me (just be nice)

I’m picking a winner at 8am ct Friday, June 1. The winner will get to choose the option of attending the following Wine Riot dates/times: Friday 6/1  7-11pm, Saturday 6/2 1-5pm and Saturday 6/2 and 7-11pm. Perfect for those looking for last minute fun plans for this weekend! Oh and I’ll be picking the best dressed attendee at Friday’s Wine Riot 🙂

Bar lll Invades Randolph Street Market

One of the biggest vintage shopping events of the year, Randolph Street Market is getting a special surprise this weekend!

Photobucket

Blogger Aimee Song of Song of Style, Macy’s most popular contemporary label, Bar lll, and the country’s top flea markets are coming together to bring Bar lll at the flea. Setting up shop at various vintage and flea markets throughout the country, Bar lll at the flea will be at Randolph Street Market this Saturday and Sunday!

Photobucket

The tour kicked off in NYC with Shenae Grimes, Corey Kennedy, Marissa Montgomery and Hannah Bronfman. Last week the tent touched down in LA with celebrity stylists Tara Swennen and Nicholas Bru. Now it’s time for Chicago!

Photobucket

At each city, the brand will set-up a tent offering attendees clothing (both menswear and womenswear), jewelry and even home goods from the latest Bar lll summer collection. As an added bonus, customers who spend $100 or more will receive a limited-edition designer Bar lll tote.

So come by the Randolph Street Market this Saturday, May 26 (10am to 6pm) and Sunday, May 27 (10am to 5pm) and check it out!

George Kotsiopoulos at Stuart Weitzman

Yesterday I had the pleasure of chatting with George Kotsiopoulos at the Stuart Weitzman cocktail party. FYI if you haven’t checked out their latest collection, you should definitely stop by and get yourself a new pair of heels. Lots of fun colors this season!

Photobucket

Anyway, George is awesome and I totally appreciate his Midwest (specifically Skokie, Illinois) roots. I myself am from Northbrook so we bonded over the ‘burbs. When I asked him if his Chicago [area] upbringing influenced his fashion career, he responded “Well I did work at Lord & Taylor…” Hey you gotta start somewhere right (fun fact: my first job was at a shoe boutique called Never Enough Shoes). So how did he end up on Fashion Police? After being in the fashion industry as a stylist and making TV appearances in the past, it was inevitable George was meant to voice his fashion opinion. He knows what he’s talking about and has the experience to back it up. However, I did tell him if a guest cancels last minute I’d be more than happy to take their place on Fashion Police 🙂

So you know I have to ask the “what do you like to do in Chicago?” question (my favorite!). Besides seeing his family in Skokie, George enjoys dining at Sunda and Pump Room, claims the gay bars in Chicago are much cooler than the ones in LA and gets excited to shop at Topman while he’s here. Sometimes I forget we’re so lucky to have a Topshop/Topman (the only other US location besides NY!)
