Tales From Chi City Closet
In most interviews I’ve done, a common question I get asked is “what’s your favorite item in your closet?” Now, this is a tough one to answer. It could be something I wear the most, an item I stare at quite often but rarely wear, or even a piece with an interesting story. Although it’s difficult to pin-point just one item I love most, I tend to give answers that incorporate a story. It gives these possessions more depth and really shows people that fashion isn’t about having a bunch of designer stuff and showing it off. And that’s where we’re going in today’s post.

20 Years of Red Soles
To celebrate 20 years of red soles, Christian Louboutin launched a special edition 20th anniversary collection. As you can imagine coming from someone like Louboutin, this collection is over-the-top and statement worthy. However, some of the styles are even a little too much for me!

Seems like something Alexa Chung would try and pull off…and would succeed.
These are actually pretty awesome. No complaints. Unfortunately I’m assuming a Kardashian already owns them…

I call these the Momsen. You know why.
Armadillo Bride 120 leather pumps
No armadillos were harmed in the making of these shoes. They’re kinda like Beetlejuice gone upscale, no?
If these were in black I’d be ALL OVER them.
Highness 160 Platform Peep Toe Heels
Beyonce can wear these while performing on stage, at a basketball game, or even running errands with baby Blue. These look like they’d be her “everyday shoe.”

Spring 2012 Trend: Get Pink
I got a great little package this week from Neiman Marcus with an amazing neon Spring 2012 trend book. Not only is the cover my ideal color but the first Spring trend I opened to is…PINK.
I was pretty inspired by the vibrant pink collage, so I thought I’d make my own and share my favorite pink finds from around the web. The best part is, almost all these pieces can be worn NOW. Let’s be honest, nothing’s better than a pop of color during the drab winter. And although pastels are also a huge trend for Spring ’12, I’m loving the combination of light and bright colors in the same outfit. Something I’ll be experimenting with…coming soon 🙂
