ASOS Fall & Holiday 2011 Preview

Yesterday I attended the preview for the ASOS Fall & Holiday 2011 collection at Hotel Sax. Being an online shopping destination, it was really great to get to see the collection in person. And let me tell you…it’s amazing!

Prabal Gurung’s First Ever Online Only Ads

One of my favorite designers, Prabal Gurung, released his first ever online only ads yesterday. I thought this was such a great concept to only release certain photos for online advertising and I’m really looking forward to seeing more innovative ideas like this with Prabal and in the fashion industry as a whole.

Check out the images from Prabal Gurung’s first ever Fall 2011 digital ad campaign.

I’m going to be honest, it takes a lot for me to really love an ad campaign. We see so many online, in magazines, etc and it can be very redundant. However, this literally gave me chills when I looked through these images. It really brings a whole new level of power to these clothes and this truly blew me away.

What do you think of Prabal’s first ever online ads?

Fall 2011 Obsessions: Christopher Kane, Miu Miu, Missoni

I have many obsessions when it comes to fashion, however there are a few things I have in mind that I absolutely must own for this coming Fall season. It may come as a shock that Proenza is not incorporated into this post, but let’s be real…it’s only August and Fall merchandise is just rolling out. Plenty of time for some new Fall 2011 obsessions 🙂

For now, here’s what I’m coveting this Fall…

PhotobucketMiu Miu Glitter & Suede Bootie

After studying the Fall ’11 collections, I couldn’t help but obsess over all of the Miu Miu glitter shoes. Of all the styles and colors though, this one sticks with me the most. Glitter and Miu Miu…do you need anything more?

Photobucket  Christopher Kane Short Samantha Aqua wool-crepe dress

I already posted about how much I love my Christopher Kane aqua clutch…so you can imagine how I felt when I came across  this this dress. The neckline and pockets are made of the same material as the bag…genius!

Photobucket Missoni Altea Wool-Blend coat

It’s very difficult for me to even think about wearing a coat right now (especially because it’s been warm in Chicago for no more than 2 months) but it’s Missoni…and it’s awesome. I like how it can be dressed up or down and it has that classic Missoni look we all know and I love.

Those are my key obsessions for the time being, but I know there will be many more to come. What are you coveting for Fall 2011?

Chi City Closet: Christopher Kane Aqua Clutch

I have been obsessed with the Christopher Kane aqua clutch since I saw his Fall 2011 collection. It’s like a lava lamp meets childhood toy…which obviously makes for the coolest accessory ever.

So when I found out RSVP Gallery was getting these bags, I of course checked the site every day and tweeted them like crazy. Thankfully my hard work paid off…

Falling For Proenza Schouler

As you already know, I fell for Proenza Schouler a while ago. But since Fall is just around the corner (as least when it comes to fashion), I see myself FALLING for Proenza all over again. Get it? I know…so clever.

After browsing Net-a-Porter the other morning (specifically “what’s new” and more specifically “what’s new–Proenza Schouler”), I’m realizing Fall fashions are approaching FAST. Although we’ve only had warm weather in Chicago for maybe a month now, I still can’t help myself already planning my Fall wardrobe. If money were no object, I would only buy Proenza (especially the looks seen below) but for now I’ll put some money aside in hopes that these “tribal meets stained glass meets Tetris” prints that are so prominent in Proenza Schouler Fall 2011 will one day appear in my closet.
