This year, I’ve introduced two new categories to ChiCityFashion (What Why Where and Chi City’s Most Stylish) and because we’re well more than half way through 2013, I thought another new topic was in order. Nothing feels better than reminiscing and feeling a bit nostalgic, right? I’ll leave it to Buzzfeed to give me lists of things I miss about the 90s so I’m going to do something a little different. Today will be my first installment of a new feature — Throwback Thursday (not to be confused with #tbt on Instagram). I’m going to start with past collections from designers and who knows what will stem from that. And because I thought my first TBT would be way too predictable if I chose Proenza, today is all about Prabal Gurung.

Dolce & Gabbana: A Tribute
When you’ve just been found guilty of a tax-evasion lawsuit that started in 2010, you deserve a little break right? Well, maybe not normal people but this is Dolce & Gabbana’s Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana we’re talking about here. The boys that made bustiers and leopard happen. Sometimes simultaneously!
And because they’re going away for one year and eight months (and not to rehab or on vacation), I thought a little tribute to some of their recent and most memorable collections was in order.
First Collection By Proenza Schouler
Although some may consider Proenza Schouler a new label, designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez have actually had the line since 2003. So, to celebrate their 10 year anniversary, my favorite store is doing something pretty spectacular for my favorite designers.
ASOS Fall & Holiday 2011 Preview

Bright outerwear, mod-inspired dresses and statement accessories; this is going to be a great Fall season for ASOS. The best part is…this stuff is actually affordable! Stylish, on-trend clothing and accessories that won’t drain your bank account? Sign me up!
Here are a few of my favorites from the collection…

Falling For Proenza Schouler
As you already know, I fell for Proenza Schouler a while ago. But since Fall is just around the corner (as least when it comes to fashion), I see myself FALLING for Proenza all over again. Get it? I know…so clever.
After browsing Net-a-Porter the other morning (specifically “what’s new” and more specifically “what’s new–Proenza Schouler”), I’m realizing Fall fashions are approaching FAST. Although we’ve only had warm weather in Chicago for maybe a month now, I still can’t help myself already planning my Fall wardrobe. If money were no object, I would only buy Proenza (especially the looks seen below) but for now I’ll put some money aside in hopes that these “tribal meets stained glass meets Tetris” prints that are so prominent in Proenza Schouler Fall 2011 will one day appear in my closet.
