Minty Fresh Fashion

Although tangerine is said to be the biggest color for Spring 2012, mint isn’t far behind…and I’m beyond obsessed. It started with this Acne sweater and led to a full blown obsession. Whether it’s a super pale green or a vibrant pastel (yes, it exists) I am absolutely loving minty fresh fashion for Spring. Who am I kidding? I’m loving it right now!

Here are some of my favorite mint finds of the moment…

Red Carpet Fashion: 2012 Oscars (Part 1)

If you’re going to tune in to one awards show all season and watch just one red carpet…THIS is the one. But if you didn’t, thankfully you have me.

The Oscars were last night and the red carpet was the best I’ve seen all season. I’m not saying everyone got it right but I wasn’t totally bored…and that says a lot. We saw a lot of strapless and one-shoulder gowns (which to be honest I’m not a huge fan of either, but they weren’t all terrible), of course the neutral beaded gowns which are expected at the Oscars, but the biggest trend was white. Not an easy thing to pull off but let’s see who got it right and who missed the mark on the red carpet…

Emerson Fall 2012: Dresden Dolls

For Fall 2012, Emerson designer Jackie Fraser-Swan was initially inspired by an antique art piece of a porcelain doll, known as the “Dresden Dolls.” When she found out this originated in Dresden, Germany, which was severely damaged during WWII, she became more and more intrigued, so her research into the 1940s began…and ultimately led to the inspiration for her latest collection.

Some further ideas that are incorporated into Emerson’s Fall 2012 collection include: the black and white images of the WWII aftermath, women’s roles changing and heading into the work force and their development of style, beauty and independence. I love both the masculine and feminine elements of this collection along with the color palette. I’m a sucker for purple, which was one of the main colors seen throughout this collection, and shown with the grey print was a really great combination.

Win $250 To Shopbop From Plastics Make It Possible

While in New York for Fashion Week, I was one of 4 bloggers to participate in styling looks for Blogger’s Night Out hosted by Plastics Make It Possible. All the looks incorporated at least one garment or accessory made with recycled plastics to show how easy it is to be sustainable and fashionable at the same time.

Now, Plastics Make It Possible is offering YOU the chance to win $250 to one of my favorite shopping destinations, Shopbop. All you have to do is click here and vote for your favorite look (which hopefully is the one I styled, seen below!)
