Everything’s Better With Feathers

I admit, I am quite the feather enthusiast (it even says so on my Tumblr…so you know it’s the truth). How I haven’t posted about my favorite feather finds yet is beyond me. So, today on ChiCityfashion…it’s all about feathers!

Fashion Books For Your Holiday Wish List

I’ve never been a big reader but I absolutely love fashion books (probably because they’re mostly made up of large, visually appealing images). I’ve been collecting them for the last few years but there’s always more to add to my wishlist. I compiled some that I already own along with a few that are currently on my mind, but regardless…there’s a fashion book for everyone and these books would make any fashion enthusiast quite the happy camper this holiday season.

PhotobucketFor those who don’t mind a little bit of nudity: Kate Moss by Mario Testino

PhotobucketA lot of pretty pictures: Harper’s Bazaar Greatest Hits

**I just bought this over the weekend and met Glenda Bailey herself…such an inspirational woman! This book is awesome.

PhotobucketTop of the list (Carine can do no wrong): Carine Roitfelt Irreverent

What are your favorite fashion books? Have any on your mind for the holidays?

Prabal Gurung Fall 2011: It’s All In The Details

I’ve been intrigued by Prabal Gurung ever since his debut Fall 2009 collection because of his close attention to detail. Nearly 3 years later, his designs have evolved but his high quality fashion-forward aesthetic has remained the same. Just when I think it’s not possible, his collections get better and better every season. The details in his Fall 2011 collection have really stood out to me and because of my Prabal obsession…these pieces deserve their own post.

And this was only Fall ’11…have you seen Spring ’12? When it comes to the details, Prabal is on another level. It’s why he’s been one of my favorite designers since that Fall 2009 debut collection, and will continue to be one for many seasons to come.

Chi City Closet: Celine Luggage Tote

Okay so I admit, I’ve been a little handbag crazy lately (especially because my last Chi City Closet post was about the Louis Vuitton Lockit Clutch) but hey…if I’m on a waitlist for months and the opportunity arises, I gotta take it right?

I’ve had my eye on the Celine Luggage Tote since last year and this thing became IMPOSSIBLE to get. It’s not sold online and stores could barely keep it in. But when I happened to stumble across it in Barney’s yesterday, I couldn’t resist! I really love this bag because at a glance it appears to be a classic style but the lines are really unique and the leather is beautiful. I am so excited to make this my new everyday tote (my PS1 needs a break!)
