I haven’t done one of these Throwback Thursday posts in a while, and considering today’s the first official day of NYFW, why not reminisce about my favorite season of all time? Let’s talk about that Spring 2011 runway…the good old days.
August was all like “hi…bye!” and now it’s fashion’s most important month where we all freak out over fashion weeks (and overuse hashtags) and get so excited about FINALLY getting to layer (just ask any fashion person). So let’s give a warm welcome to September…
When we think of fashion week we think Paris, Milan, New York and London…but there are so many more happening all around the world that we don’t hear much about. After seeing some extra awesome street style shots coming out of Copenhagen, I thought another city could get the fashion spotlight for once.
Every September and February, our Instagram and Twitter feeds flood with #MBFW and #NYFW posts (and if you’re lucky enough #LFW #MFW #PFW) because it wouldn’t be fashion week without a whole bunch of hashtags. But then there’s that one on the other half of the globe who gets their turn but once a year and a little later than everyone else — it’s #MBFWA (or Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia). You know how I feel about Australian designers so this had to happen.
Welcome back, cropped pants. It’s been a while (about 9 years I’d say?) Looks like every editor wants on you, regular people fear you but regardless, we’re going to talk about you.
