Getting Comfortable

When it comes to getting dressed, comfort wasn’t always my number one priority. I thought “anything for fashion,” “I don’t care how high the heel,” and “I know it’s not my size but it’s 50% off so I’ll take it.” And one day it just clicked. Maybe I can still look put together without faking my way to five inches taller and in pants that make sitting down a daunting task. With trends like boyfriend jeans, oversized everything and flat shoes, it’s clear that designers are on the same page. So, THANK YOU FASHION. My feet are forever grateful.

What Why Where: Fall Shorts

I’ve always liked the idea of Fall shorts but they never made their way into my closet. Although I do have a few pairs in the leather variety, the length of them just doesn’t seem appropriate once September hits (and now that we’re in October, it just feels way too wrong to wear short shorts). So if they’re wool and much longer than what I’m used to, it has to be okay to wear in Fall, right? (As long as the weather still permits…which it’s been doing a killer job of lately).

So today I’m taking on the fashion challenge of incorporating shorts into a Fall look. Shorts: 0. Jena: 0. Let’s see how this plays out.

12 Awesome Things That Happened in 2012

Well I think we can all agree that the best thing that happened in 2012 is that the world didn’t end (good thing because I was concerned I wouldn’t live to see the Girls season 2 premiere). But there were some other things that happened in fashion, in Chicago, in food and overall in life (well in my life at least) that were pretty awesome. So I wanted to take my last day of 2012 to look back on [what I consider to be] the best things that happened this year.
