Red Carpet Fashion: People’s Choice Awards 2012

I’m going to be up front with you…I did not watch the People’s Choice Awards last night nor did I plan on doing a red carpet post today. However, after browsing the photos and being quite impressed with the risks people took on the red carpet last night (regardless of whether they paid off or not) I just couldn’t help myself. And of course this isn’t the entire list of people who attended the awards show last night…but it’s the people who the dresses that matter, in the best or worst ways possible.

Proenza Schouler Spring 2012 Ads

Now’s the time where many of the Spring 2012 ad campaigns are surfacing, and with the amazing collections we saw last September these are bound to be good. But who has the best so far? Proenza Schouler…of course. Let’s take a look, shall we?

Photobucket

Really loving the mint color of this skirt for Spring (pastels are the biggest trend next season!) The softness of the skirt paired with that awesome textured top…genius.

Photobucket

Looks like I should start doing crunches if I’m ever going to pull this off…

Photobucket

This top is one of my favorite pieces from this collection.

Photobucket

Normally not a fan of brown and black together, but I’m definitely a fan of this look.

Photobucket

LOVE an open back…even better that it’s Proenza 🙂

My favorite image of all the Proenza SS12 ad photos (love me a good detail shot!)

My Favorite Moments From 2011

2011 was a pretty great year. Now that I look back, I got to experience a lot of amazing things and I’m so grateful for these opportunities. I hope you had an amazing 2011…but let’s make 2012 even better!

Here’s a look at of some of my favorite moments from this past year…

Photobucket

Getting a good camera! So I can share better quality pictures with you, my lovely readers, and also so I can take sick pictures like this…

Photobucket

Meeting Brian Atwood…because not only are his shoes gorgeous, so is he!

Photobucket

Having ChiCityFashion be featured in the latest issue of CS Magazine…along with my favorite blogger friends.

Photobucket

Meeting Glenda Bailey…she made Harper’s Bazaar what it is today and she is one of the most incredible people I’ve met to date.

Photobucket

My first Chanel bag…enough said 🙂

Photobucket

A surprise appearance by Giuliana and Bill at my 23rd birthday.

Photobucket

Seeing a Kelly bag get made before my very eyes at the Hermes Festival of Crafts.

Photobucket

It was my goal this year to make it to the McQueen exhibit at the Met, and thanks to their lovely extension…I made it!

Photobucket

Photographed by Tommy Ton (without even knowing it!) my first day at Fashion Week in New York this year. And seeing it on Style.com the next day…unreal!

Photobucket

I think this one takes the cake. Meeting my favorite designers (Jack and Lazaro), designing a custom version of my very favorite bag (the PS1), and it all led up to this…

Photobucket

I still can’t believe I own the only custom PS1. Officially the most treasured item in my closet.

I couldn’t have asked for a better year. Thank you all for your support and your awesome comments. Have a happy new year!

Chicago Bloggers In CS Magazine January 2012

I was so excited when I found out the other day that ChiCityFashion was featured in the January 2012 issue of CS Magazine! Even better? I’m surrounded by my favorite Chicago bloggers; some of which have even been featured here on ChiCityFashion.

Looks I’m Feeling For Pre-Fall 2012

Like Resort, Pre-Fall can be one of those forgotten about seasons. We all pay close attention to the Spring shows in September and the Fall shows in February, but what about that season that happens before Fall? Oh yeah…it’s Pre-Fall! I was less than impressed with most of the collections (that have showed so far) but there’s some designers that continue to amaze me season after season, and happen to have my absolute favorite looks for Pre-Fall so far.

So with that said, here’s the top looks I’m feeling for Pre-Fall 2012…

Photobucket 3.1 Phillip Lim

This is an outfit I would never ordinarily put together, but there’s something about the quirkiness of this sweater that intrigues me.

Photobucket Diane Von Furstenberg

I don’t think I’ve ever worn a monochromatic outfit in my life, but it’s outfits like these that make me want to try. The different textures and shades of green give it more depth which is what I love about this look. Who knows…maybe you’ll see me in an all green ensemble next pre-fall 🙂

Photobucket Oscar de la Renta

I’m a sucker for textures (when it comes to both food and fashion!) so I love the play with texture in this look. It takes a lot for me to fall in love with an all black dress but with detailing like this, I’m sold!

Photobucket Theyskens’ Theory

Again…all black. Why do I love this then? Umm are those jeweled leggings? Yeah that’s why. Paired with a tee, shorts and flat boots gives it that “I’m awesome but I’m not even trying” vibe [which most people just call “effortless”]…and I’m into it.

Photobucket Proenza Schouler

Proenza can do no wrong in my book. And I really love the colors Jack and Lazaro used for this collection (colors remind me of Fall ’11, materials remind me of Spring ’11…I loved both, so this works for me). The color of this jacket is amazing and it’s cool to see an unconventional pairing with the blue pants.

What are your favorite looks so far for Pre-Fall 2012?
