Printed Pants Street Style on Refinery29

After my interview with Brad Goreski a few weeks ago, I ran into Amy from Chicago Street Style outside of Sofia. And look what happened to show up on Refinery29

This outfit was originally picked out for me by Jeff (of The Midwestyle) at the Nordstrom Rag & Bone event, and it’s still one of my favorite outfits to date! Colorful shirt, printed pants, killer heels and a PS1…definition of my life, really.

Rag & Bone Meet & Greet at Nordstrom

What better way to end my week (and celebrate my recovery from being sick the previous 2 days) than hang out with David Neville and Marcus Wainwright of Rag & Bone?! Not only did I get to talk to the talented guys behind one of my favorite labels but I picked up some SWEET R&B pieces along the way (including the coolest printed jeans I’ve ever owned).

My favorite outfit I’ve ever put on (including the coolest pants I’ve ever owned)–MSGM top, Rag & Bone pants (which I obviously bought both) and my own Alexander Wang heels.

A lovely signed copy of my photo with the designers.

I absolutely loved meeting the Marcus & David once again (I interviewed them for Qlix magazine a few years ago) and everyone at Nordstrom and the Rag & Bone team were so amazing (and very well dressed may I add).

Minty Fresh Fashion

Although tangerine is said to be the biggest color for Spring 2012, mint isn’t far behind…and I’m beyond obsessed. It started with this Acne sweater and led to a full blown obsession. Whether it’s a super pale green or a vibrant pastel (yes, it exists) I am absolutely loving minty fresh fashion for Spring. Who am I kidding? I’m loving it right now!

Here are some of my favorite mint finds of the moment…

Spring 2012 Trend: The Athlete

I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but today’s post was inspired by the Superbowl. Although I only paid attention during commercials, I had an idea of what was going on…and all I could think of was Spring ’12.

Ever wish you could turn your track pants into a stylish outfit? I still wouldn’t recommend trying that but you are in luck for Spring.  With windbreaker jackets, side striped pants and mesh seen on the runways last September, it’s looking like the athlete is in for Spring 2012. However, the designers elevated these items to look like high quality fashion-forward pieces. So please don’t leave your house in work out clothes, unless of course you’re going to the gym.

Here’s a look at some of the sports-inspired looks for Spring ’12…

Looks I’m Feeling For Pre-Fall 2012

Like Resort, Pre-Fall can be one of those forgotten about seasons. We all pay close attention to the Spring shows in September and the Fall shows in February, but what about that season that happens before Fall? Oh yeah…it’s Pre-Fall! I was less than impressed with most of the collections (that have showed so far) but there’s some designers that continue to amaze me season after season, and happen to have my absolute favorite looks for Pre-Fall so far.

So with that said, here’s the top looks I’m feeling for Pre-Fall 2012…

Photobucket 3.1 Phillip Lim

This is an outfit I would never ordinarily put together, but there’s something about the quirkiness of this sweater that intrigues me.

Photobucket Diane Von Furstenberg

I don’t think I’ve ever worn a monochromatic outfit in my life, but it’s outfits like these that make me want to try. The different textures and shades of green give it more depth which is what I love about this look. Who knows…maybe you’ll see me in an all green ensemble next pre-fall 🙂

Photobucket Oscar de la Renta

I’m a sucker for textures (when it comes to both food and fashion!) so I love the play with texture in this look. It takes a lot for me to fall in love with an all black dress but with detailing like this, I’m sold!

Photobucket Theyskens’ Theory

Again…all black. Why do I love this then? Umm are those jeweled leggings? Yeah that’s why. Paired with a tee, shorts and flat boots gives it that “I’m awesome but I’m not even trying” vibe [which most people just call “effortless”]…and I’m into it.

Photobucket Proenza Schouler

Proenza can do no wrong in my book. And I really love the colors Jack and Lazaro used for this collection (colors remind me of Fall ’11, materials remind me of Spring ’11…I loved both, so this works for me). The color of this jacket is amazing and it’s cool to see an unconventional pairing with the blue pants.

What are your favorite looks so far for Pre-Fall 2012?
