10 Chicago Bloggers You Need To Know

I was very honored to be featured as one of the 10 Chicago Bloggers You Need To Know on Socialyte.Collective this week!

Photobucket

Not only is it great to be featured, but it’s even better to be alongside some of my favorite fellow Chicago bloggers like Amy of Chicago Street Style (who happened to take the photo above during NYFW), Anna of See Jane Work, Play Live and Audrey of A Lovely Escape…just to name a few.

Be sure to check out all the bloggers here.

Street Seen at NYFW

I absolutely love street style so I always feel very honored when others like what I’m wearing enough to take a photo. Granted I don’t actually enjoy having my photo taken (I always feel awkward) but if it’s about the outfit, I’m okay with it. Thank you to everyone who told me about these! Really excited to share with you…

This video has nothing to do with me, but hey…I made the cut. (no pun intended)

Photobucket

Okay this was actually on The Cut. Chatting it up with the lovely Mr. Newton.

NYFW Fall 2012 Highlights

Now that my feet have stopped throbbing and I’ve finally rehydrated, it can only mean one thing…fashion week is officially over (for me at least…not cool enough to go to London yet).

I had an amazing time, as always, and I wanted to share my highlights from this trip. Between the Fall ’12 shows, events, and catching up with friends I really couldn’t have asked for a better week!

Just attending J. Mendel was magical. The collection was incredible and I was so honored to be there. After figuring out I wasn’t seeing double and it was indeed the Olsen twins in the front row, it made my J. Mendel experience that much better.

Photobucket

Caught the model just as she [almost] wiped out…as the finale look at J. Mendel.

Photobucket

Trying a really awesome Japanese restaurant called Village Yokocho in the East Village.

Photobucket

Meeting Mario Batali and once again seeing the lovely Elettra Wiedemann at the Goodness Pop Up press preview.

Photobucket

Seeing a piece of Prabal Gurung Spring ’12 in person (on Elettra after her wardrobe change). I literally could not breathe when she first came out.

Photobucket

Hosting the GLSEN lounge presented by Elle Magazine with my friend Jonathan Valdez of Orange Juice & Biscuits.

Photobucket

Such a personal (and delicious) little treat in gift bags from the Lela Rose show.

FINALLY checking out Kirna Zabete.

Oh and I may have picked up a Muppets x Opening Ceremony sweater…

And overall to sum up the shows, here’s a few things you can expect to see for Fall 2012—burgundy, dark green, ink blue, monochromatic looks (especially in white) and textured leather detailing. Will you be sporting these trends next Fall? (if you’re pondering…don’t worry, because you have just under a year to think about it)

Chi City Closet: My Custom Proenza Schouler PS1

This is the ultimate Chi City Closet post; where I’m finally sharing photos of my custom Proenza Schouler PS1! You got a sneak peak last week in the Proenza Surprise post but I had to build up the hype just a little bit more, right? 🙂

This is the medium Proenza Schouler PS1 in purple python with black python trim and a neon yellow suede interior. It’s officially the most amazing item in my closet and I don’t think anything will ever top it. Enjoy!

Thank you to everyone at Proenza Schouler, including Jack and Lazaro, for helping me design this bag. Thank you to Charity Buzz…because without them, this wouldn’t have been possible. And thank you to Amy Creyer of Chicago Street Style for taking the amazing photos of me with my custom PS1!

It was actually the 2 year anniversary of ChiCityFashion.com on Friday so this officially my celebratory post. Thank you all for supporting my blog for the last 2 years. It means the world to me.

New York Fashion Week Candid on Chicago Street Style

I was so excited to see yesterday that Amy from Chicago Street Style posted a candid photo of me from New York Fashion Week.

Photobucket

Although I despise most pictures of myself, I don’t mind them as much if I’m not looking at the camera…and with Amy’s amazing photography skills, I can never hate her photos. Plus, she’s been killing it with the candids lately! Click here to view the full post.
