Floral Pants: They’re Taking Over

Whether you’re in LA, New York, Chicago or even Paris and Milan…floral pants are everywhere this season. What I love most about them is their versaility. From the silhouette (wide leg, skinny, trousers, etc) to the variety of colors and floral patterns, there’s a pair for everyone!

My obsession began with these Alexander Wang jeans, and I’m now on the hunt for another fun pair! Here’s a look at my favorites…

Printed Tights: The Ultimate Winter Accessory

Although I hate my legs, I always dread wearing tights in the winter because they seem to drag down an outfit. But of course since it’s freezing, I suck it up and do it anyway. Thankfully the hosiery companies (and even those who don’t specialize in legwear) have taken it upon themselves to make tights COOL and turn them into the ultimate winter accessory.

Just like a statement necklace can really jazz up a simple black dress, printed tights can do just the same (but it  doesn’t hurt to do both, right?) With that said, I’ve scoured the internet to find my favorite tights available this season. So there’s no excuse to go bare legged when it’s 10 degrees (which happens to be one of my biggest pet peeves by the way…)

Leopard is Neutral

Leopard, and animal print in general, is something that I’ve always liked in small doses but never really incorporated into my wardrobe. After including a little bit of leopard in my What I’m [Surprisingly] Coveting for Fall 2011 post and actually purchasing my first leopard piece, an Alexander McQueen leopard print wrap bracelet, I’m finally giving in. After all…leopard IS neutral.

Check out my favorite [tasteful] leopard picks below. (remember, leopard can sometimes look cheap so make sure it’s a tasteful piece!)

Velvet Obsessions For Fall 2011

Velvet has been a trend that has stayed the last few Fall seasons. It’s never been a favorite of mine, but after my Topshop leggings purchase this past weekend, I’ve decided to reconsider.

Check out my velvet obsessions for Fall 2011…

And as George Costanza would say…”I would drape myself in velvet if it were socially acceptable.” And if you’re not a Seinfeld fan, then I’ll leave you with a moment of confusion at the end of this blog post. Have a great weekend!

Spring 2012 Trend: Bandeau Tops

Last week I shared with you the new sheer skirt trend for Spring 2012, and after viewing the collections from Milan…there’s another trend coming to town. Bandeau tops were all over the runways for Milan Fashion Week (and not the kind you wear under sheer tops). These are detailed, meant to be seen, bandeau tops worn with both pants and skirts. Some were shown with jackets and some without (I’d personally recommend a jacket) but this is another trend I’m curious to see whether or not it will translate to the streets. What do you think?
