Wet Hair Don’t Care

Beyonce is rocking wet hair for Vogue‘s September issue. And as we all know, if Beyonce does something…we have to talk about it.

The wet hair “trend” is no new thing. It’s not like this is the first time we’ve ever seen Bey with damp locks…

And I’m sure it won’t be the last.

Alexander Wang sent his models down the runway for Fall ’15 with the wet hair look…and we all went crazy for it (or at least I did).

The question is…is this actually relatable? Like can I leave my house after I get out of the shower and look like this? (although I do quite often but I’m typically running to Walgreens or walking my dog…wearing my Nike gear…crossing my fingers I don’t run into anyone).

I’m going to say YES WE CAN. And this would make my life a hell of a lot easier. I prefer to let my hair air dry as I want to apply the least amount of heat to it as possible. Plus, it just looks better when I don’t take a blow dryer to it (now if a professional does, that’s a different story). When I wash my hair, I have to wait about 3 hours for it to completely dry (unless I do leave the house to run an errand, and in this heat…it will dry a little quicker outside). I don’t always have 3 hours to wait, so I’m glad this wet hair thing…is a thing.

I already love the idea of the slicked back look (which is still on my agenda to try one day…just don’t even know where to start…if you have any tips, please let me know in the comments!)

But if I can leave my house with wet hair and look chic…you best believe I’m going to do it (while I still can…without having icicles coming out of my head…which is just around the corner).

Unless you’re on a beach vacation, it seems like the key to making this work in real life is to elevate the rest of your look. If your outfit is teetering toward Athleisure, you will probably just look like you left the gym. But if you’re a little more dressed up, perhaps with a bold lip, everyone will think it’s on purpose.

So I’ve already told you I’m on board with this (if it’s done right of course). The question is — are you? Would you go all wet hair don’t care or do you need a dry and done look regardless of where you’re going? Elle has a few suggestions on how to get this look but if you have any other tips / tricks for making this work, spread the love…share in the comments!
