Are You #Trending?

I have a love / hate relationship with regards to discussing trends. It’s sort of part of my job to share them but at the same time, I don’t want you to think for a second that you have to wear them. You never want to look overly trendy, but if there’s something that happens to be on trend that speaks to you, by all means GO FOR IT. So today, let’s find out what’s especially on trend now (including one I actually despise), if you’re actually going to wear these things and how you’re going to wear them. Ready?

Don’t Fret

If you haven’t been able to tell by now through my Instagram and personal style posts, I have this thing for street art. I just find it super cool to have access to art that’s beautiful, funny, ironic, and / or overall just intriguing…without having to step foot in a gallery. It catches you by surprise, as you never know when you’ll come across it. So that’s why I wanted to start profiling the brains behind these [sometimes illegal] operations. First up? Don’t Fret.

Architecture & Fashion

Chicago may not be a fashion capital [just yet] but what we are known for is having crazy unpredictable weather, deep dish pizza and ridiculously amazing architecture. Now you may not think that has anything to do with the way we dress (referring to the architecture…not necessarily the pizza, although I do have my designated “eating pants”) but what if I told you it actually does?

You’ve Got A Point

It’s funny that for quite some time, I pretty much refused to wear flat shoes. Then when loafers and oxfords came along, I rarely wore heels. The reason for never wearing flat shoes is that our options were limited to traditional ballet flats, which let’s be honest…are ugly. But if loafers and oxfords aren’t your thing and sneakers are too sporty for you AND you still need an excuse to ditch your heels…I have the perfect solution.
