As of last night, it’s official — we can no longer get away with anything shorter than a mid-calf boot, until this massive amount of snow melts (then in that case all of our shoes will be ruined, regardless). Tall boots seem like a simple piece of footwear, right? There are a ton of options, they’re practical, they’re [sometimes] stylish…but I haven’t always found them to be an easy thing to shop for.
We’ve all read those “fashion must haves” posts where some expert tells you what every woman should own. I’ve even had people ask me this very question for their own stories. Each time I check any form of social media on a Monday, it seems like everyone I follow is having the worst day ever. There’s something about starting off the week again that we all seem to share a hatred for, and take our hatred to Facebook and Instagram. The one thing us Chicagoans all seem to want is a warm winter coat, but one that’s actually stylish…and doesn’t make us look like a marshmallow. It’s something I struggled with in the past but either designers have really stepped up their game in the outerwear department or I’ve gotten really good at finding stylish winter coats (perhaps a little bit of both?)
