No, this post is not brought to you by 1-800-SANDALS, but more by my realization that sandal season will be over before we know it. And as much as fashion people LOVE to talk about how much they can’t wait for boots and chunky sweaters, we have so little time to actually show off our pedicures…and that time is quite precious to me. So let’s talk about sandals…
I’m all for breaking the rules when it comes to seasons and styles. Suede in summer, pastels in winter, no white after Labor Day, etc. But there are certain things that, for the most part, should only be worn in their designated season…and today we’re going to talk about one of them.
Swimwear is one of those topics I’ve only discussed a few times here on CCF, as let’s be honest…does anyone actually enjoy shopping for bathing suits? Unless you’re a Victoria’s Secret model, this category of shopping can be daunting. But I think I’ve found a way to make it a little less…intimidating.
When it comes to “fashion rules,” there are more specific ones (that for the most part don’t even apply anymore) like no white after Labor Day (screw that), don’t mix black and navy (yeah, right), etc. But there are some general rules that apply to everyone and these are the types of rules that aren’t meant to be broken…
Now that the Fall 2015 Couture shows have come to a close (and it’s Bastille Day…yay for French things!) I thought we could learn some lessons from these collections. We’re not all part of the lucky few who get to actually wear these works of art, but we can get some inspiration from them…and just pretend like we’re couturing ourselves for a minute, right?
