Have a Stylish Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving all! I hope you’re prepping to feast on turkey (or tofurky for the vegetarians), stuffing and of course…pumpkin pie. If you feel yourself wondering what to wear on this food-filled occasion, I recommend stretchy pants (leggings, specifically…I’ll be wearing my favorite by David Lerner).

With the city looking mostly burnt orange/brown/mustard yellow due to all of the leaves on the ground, I thought I’d take this opportunity to showcase my favorite Thanksgiving-appropriate fashion finds. Enjoy!

Of course I can’t forget about the real meaning of Thanksgiving. Although I love fashion and I sometimes can go a little overboard with the shopping, I’m beyond thankful for everything I have. I’m extremely thankful to have amazing readers like you who have supported ChiCityFashion over the last [almost] 2 years. I wouldn’t be where I am without you…so thank you!

Paper Magazine Presents Small Business Saturday

I’m sure you’re all familiar with Black Friday and the new age Cyber Monday…but will you be participating in Small Business Saturday? As a huge supporter of local companies, especially in the Chicago area, this is one sale day I will definitely be partaking in.

Thanks to Paper magazine and AmEx, Small Business Saturday has never been easier. They created guides to help you shop local in New York, Chicago and San Francisco.

Some of my favorites on the Chicago list include Ikram,  p45, Shrine Haberdashers, and Stitch. But there’s so many more great places to visit…you don’t want to miss out!

Chicago Blogger Network + Rent The Runway

On Tuesday, December 6 Chicago Blogger Network is hosting the preview for Rent The Runway’s holiday collection.

Rent The Runway is a great way to get the opportunity to wear amazing designer dresses without having to pay the hefty retail price. With rentals mostly under $300, everyone can afford to look fabulous for any occasion. We all can use a new dress for the holidays, so I’m looking forward to seeing what RTR has in store (plus I get to hang out with fellow Chicago bloggers!)

Visiting The New Dana Rebecca Showroom

Over the weekend, I finally had a chance to visit the brand new Dana Rebecca showroom! This is no ordinary showroom…this is every girl’s fantasy. Gorgeous pink and white decor with the most beautiful gems you’ve ever laid your eyes on, plus some wonderful sweets to top it al off…I could have spent hours there.

And then of course, I felt it was necessary to see and try on everything…

And then I fell on love with the Melissa Louise ring (seen below paired with my Orna ring, my last DRD purchase)…

And can you guess what happens in the end? I’m now the proud owner of the Dana Rebecca Melissa Louise ruby ring 🙂 It was the first thing I tried on, and paired with my pink quartz and rose gold Orna ring…it’s just perfection.

Thank you to Dana and Caitlin for having me…I can’t wait to visit once again. Who knows what will be the next addition to my DRD collection?

Currently Obsessing Over: Current/Elliott Suede Jeans

Current/Elliott has been killing it lately with their jeans. They’ve taken denim to another level, especially with the popular leopard skinnies. I was looking on Net-a-Porter last weekend, as I do every day, and I couldn’t take my eyes off the Ankle Skinny low-rise suede jeans…I just had to dedicate a full post to them.

Photobucket

It’s not easy to find high-waisted skinny jeans that look cool. These are an absolute perfect silhouette. To top it off, they’re suede…oh and they’re orange. So I guess you can say, they’re pretty sweet. I’d wear them with my vintage Chloe peasant blouse I got at Modern Vintage last month. Or even with a black Wolford bodysuit and cropped leather jacket.

How would you wear the Current/Elliott suede jeans?
