Met Gala 2016

Now that it’s officially the first Tuesday in May (definitely not as catchy as The First Monday In May) it’s time to discuss all of the noteworthy looks from the Met Gala last night. Between models, celebrities and designers, there is SO much to talk about (meaning lots of posts coming at you today)…so I say we just get to it!

Flats or Heels?

How many times have you heard a friend or acquaintance stare at your flat shoes and say, those are cute…but I could never wear flats? Or the one girl who always makes a point to say every time someone comments on her outfit, I only wear heels? This is something I could once very much relate to, but with my shoe closet growing (and with less and less heel height) I wanted to see if you all felt the same.

What Why Where: Mom Jeans

After a few years of looking for something to wear other than skinny jeans (re: the growing popularity of boyfriend jeans, the resurrection of flares, the launch of the relaxed skinny, etc.) we now have an array of options in the denim category (that will not suffocate your thighs). If you’re definitely a regular mom (and not a cool mom serving cocktails mocktails to your high school daughter, named Regina George, and her friends) then you’ll appreciate these jeans.

Spring Layers

I’ll be the first to admit that when it comes to layering, I typically keep it very practical (layering for the weather and not necessarily for looks). Every once in a while I’ll get a little creative — a bodysuit with a jumpsuit, two pairs of tights, and a sweater over a dress more than one time — but for the most part, I stick to a top and a jacket…if outerwear is necessary. Regardless of the reason for wearing more clothes, there’s a new(ish) trend that’s making me think twice about the idea of layering…FOR FUN.
