CCF Loves: Liz Adams

You didn’t think I’d leave you hanging with no final CCF Loves for 2014, right? Back from a long holiday weekend and just about onto the next long holiday weekend, here’s your final dose of CCF ♥ for the year.

sequins and stripes

Liz Adams (formerly known as Liz Schneider, she is a newlywed after all) is behind the super popular blog, Sequins & Stripes. If you’ve never met her, it’s no surprise. As well-known as her blog is, she really keeps her life low-key (something I truly envy…now officially my New Year’s resolution) and I really appreciate that about her. I can’t recall how we officially met but we did work together on a project with Nordstrom a while back and we’ve been friends ever since. You know how some people just rub you the wrong way? Liz is the total opposite of that. She’s always smiling (but not in that there’s no way you’re always this happy type of way), she’s very smart at what she’s done with her business (a fellow full-time blogger) and overall she’s just fun to be around. Because blogging as a career is still a pretty new thing, it’s nice knowing someone like Liz…I get her, she gets me (I think) and yeah, she’s pretty great.

So if you don’t know Liz, here’s your chance to get to (and if you do happen to call her a friend…well then here’s a few things you might not know about her)

Why did you choose Chicago?
Being born and raised in Chicago initiated my love for the Windy City but I decided to move back after college because it was the perfect size, the people are good people, it’s clean {!!!}, it has the prettiest skyline, and the summers here are hard to beat.

Top three favorite things to do / see in the city?
I love  going out to eat and am always looking for new favorite spots {I actually usually turn to Jena for recommendations!}, riding our bikes in the summer and having a boozy picnic at Museum Park {best view of the city}, and shopping on Oak Street.

Most memorable moment in your career so far?
Hm, maybe seeing myself in Lucky Magazine!

Words of advice for someone trying to get into your field?
Stay true to yourself and ignore everyone else.

Favorite blog post you’ve ever written and why?
Probably this Chicago City Guide with Piperlime. A fun reminder of why I love Chicago. I also love ice cream.

And there you have it! The last CCF Loves of 2014. I will definitely be bringing this series back in 2015. In the mean time, be sure to check out Sequins & Stripes. DO IT.
