Currently Obsessing Over: Josh Goot

Australian fashion designer Josh Goot is not only awesome…but one of the most up-and-coming Aussie designers to start hitting the states. You may recognize the name from his sale on Moda Operandi (also mentioned here) but if you’re not familiar with the designer, here’s some fun facts about why I’m obsessed with him…and why you should be too.

ICB by Prabal Gurung

It was announced in December of last year that Prabal Gurung will be the one to take over as chief designer for ICB (International Concept Brand) as they relaunch in the US. Basically this means that you can get the Prabal Gurung aesthetic that you love at a more affordable price point…awesome.

The debut Fall 2012 collection showed at fashion week in February and it’s now available for pre-order on Barneys.com! Here’s a look at some of my favorite styles…

Meredith Wendell Trunk Show

Accessory designers Meredith and Wendell German are hosting a trunk show for their line Meredith Wendell this Saturday at space519.

I first discovered Meredith Wendell at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week’s first ever accessories bazaar  (took this photo of their collection while I was there) and with the brand’s use of bright colors, I was immediately hooked…and you will be too. So stop by space519 at the 900 Shops this Saturday to check it out!

Moda Operandi Celebrates Fashion Down Under

After traveling to (and falling in love with) Australia 2 summers ago, I was beyond thrilled to see one of my favorite shopping sites, Moda Operandi, embracing the fashion down under. While I was there, I even had the privilege of checking out an exhibit at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, all about Australian Fashion Week…which is what truly sparked my interest in Aussie fashion.

Style icon and Moda Operandi Artistic Director Taylor Tomasi Hill was in Australia for fashion week earlier this month and selected her favorites from all of the shows, and they’ve been making an appearance on MO since. There are few websites with the influence Moda Operandi has who celebrate fashion in Australia so it’s pretty great to have the opportunity to shop designers like Josh Goot, Dion Lee, Michael Lo Sordo, Ellery, Ksubi, Manning Cartell, and Camilla and Marc.

Loving tropical prints right now? Then you have to check out the latest Autralian designer to hit MO–Ksubi (ps. look #25 is my favorite!)

If you’re like me and can’t pass up a bright print, don’t miss out on Michael Lo Sordo (trunk show ends May 31).

ChiCityFashion in the Pioneer Press

During fashion week in New York, I met with the lovely Meg Moore of the Pioneer Press to discuss all things fashion and Chicago. And today my interview is published in 19 of the Pioneer Press papers! I’m so thankful  to be included in something major like this (and being from the ‘burbs I’m quite familiar with these newspapers) so I hope you’ll check it out.
