Every season, I come across a random trend or two that always surprises me, yet is comforting because it’s reassurance that fashion is indeed fun (i.e. owls and Star Wars). I hope we have some Little Mermaid / Red Lobster fans in the house (which may even be one in the same) because I sea a new trend surfacing…

How many trends does it take to get to the center of fashion hell? Let’s find out.
Sweet Kicks: Sneakers For Spring
Although it’s a trend that’s not really my style, I do appreciate a well-pulled off sneaker. It’s a more casual alternative to flats or flat boots, but if you’ve taken a look at any of the more recent sneaker designs, they can sure make a statement. I have to say though, I’m not loving wedge sneakers…they remind me of JLo from her “Jenny From The Block” days, and why would we ever want to relive the fashions of 2002? So anyway…
With the Isabel Marant ‘Willow’ Sneakers totally being the new Miu Miu glitter booties of the season, see what sweet sneaks I’m loving for Spring.

Best Shoes of Spring 2012
As per request of a stylish male friend of mine (and partially due to my serious obsession with shoes), I thought I’d put together a list of the absolute best shoes from Spring 2012. Sadly we won’t be able to wear these in Chicago for quite some time (if they get made into production of course) but the least we can do for now is admire them.
With the Fall ’12 collections coming up next month, I’m looking forward to even more fabulous heels to swoon over.

Have a Stylish Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving all! I hope you’re prepping to feast on turkey (or tofurky for the vegetarians), stuffing and of course…pumpkin pie. If you feel yourself wondering what to wear on this food-filled occasion, I recommend stretchy pants (leggings, specifically…I’ll be wearing my favorite by David Lerner).
With the city looking mostly burnt orange/brown/mustard yellow due to all of the leaves on the ground, I thought I’d take this opportunity to showcase my favorite Thanksgiving-appropriate fashion finds. Enjoy!

Of course I can’t forget about the real meaning of Thanksgiving. Although I love fashion and I sometimes can go a little overboard with the shopping, I’m beyond thankful for everything I have. I’m extremely thankful to have amazing readers like you who have supported ChiCityFashion over the last [almost] 2 years. I wouldn’t be where I am without you…so thank you!
