A lot of people have a tough time incorporating color into their wardrobe, and I always say the easiest way to do so is by utilizing bright accessories. But now with so many colorful shoes, jewelry and bags on the market…the accessories world can be a bit overwhelming. The simplest way to utilize color is the most intimidating for a lot of women. Can you guess what it is?

NARS Goes Warhol
Ever since Thakoon x NARS happened, I’ve had some pretty high hopes for beauty collaborations (especially from NARS, because their products are awesome). Although you can’t technically call their latest collection “Andy Warhol x NARS” (for obvious reasons)….it’s as close as an Andy Warhol collaboration you’re going to get in 2012.
July Beauty Obsessions
I used to do beauty obsessions posts, then I kind of forgot about them/haven’t tried many new products that I’m absolutely in love with…but this month, that all changed. I tried a some new beauty products recently (covering the main categories: cosmetics, hair and skincare) that I love so much I couldn’t keep them to myself.
Here’s a look at my current beauty obsessions. Hope you’ll love them as much as I do!
Tom Ford Beauty Launch at Neiman Marcus
Earlier this week I was invited to check out the launch of Tom Ford beauty at Neiman Marcus. I was especially excited about this because last Fall, I ordered the Violet Fatale lip color and African Violet nailpolish as soon as they were available online…and now these items (along with the entire Tom Ford beauty collection) are available at Neiman Marcus on Michigan Avenue.
Bobbi Brown Pretty Powerful Event
On Saturday I attended the Bobbi Brown Pretty Powerful event at Nordstrom. This is a campaign Bobbi started herself to promote women’s natural beauty yet give them them confidence through her trusted cosmetics and skincare at the same time. Be Pretty. Be Confident. Be Who You Are. Great words to live by, right?
I got a complimentary makeover from Shawn who does Bobbi Brown sales and education for the Midwest. He was so wonderful and even got me to step outside my comfort zone with lip color. I’m always wearing bright pinks, oranges and reds but I went a little darker for this look…and I love it!
Here’s a look at the transformation…
No makeup (I can’t believe I’m publicizing this…I must really like you)
Just face done.
All done. (Lipstick is called Crimson…I love it!)
Shawn even wrote out everything he used on my face, along with putting the same color palette on the face so I’ll know exactly what to use when I get home.
This was such a fun event and I highly recommend checking out any future Bobbi Brown Pretty Powerful events in the future.
