After Emma Stone just wore some killer Lanvin to the Golden Globes (and was by far the best dressed on the red carpet) and the design house launched their Spring 2015 ad campaign yesterday, I think we could all use a little Lanvin in our lives today…don’t you?
You know I like to throw it back every once in a while on a Thursday but today we’re doing something a little different. It seems like we can’t get enough of the term “basic bitch” (I find myself saying the word “basic” in that reference at least once every other day) so I thought I’d make a little confession to you. This isn’t easy but…
I used to be basic.
I have a love/hate relationship with the early 2000s — love because it reminds me of middle school and high school (and it’s always fun to reminisce about the good old days) but hate due to it being one of the worst moments in fashion history…at least in my opinion. And because what goes around comes around, some of these popular styles from the time are making a comeback for spring 2015. Yes, our worst nightmare is coming true (and no, it’s not Amanda Bynes driving a car within 100 feet of you).
I haven’t done a Throwback Thursday here in quite a while, and what better occasion to revive it than CANNES TIME? Yes, it’s that time of year again — where both American and foreign A-listers gather in the south of France to
celebrate film be photographed in expensive borrowed gowns for all of us to judge. But because the festival kicked off just yesterday, I wanted to wait a bit before we discussed this year’s red carpet so I thought I’d compromise and talk about the best of the Cannes red carpet from years past (as well as the not-so-great, the…interesting, and the Diane Kruger — a category of its own).
