Words of Wisdom

Why do you love fashion? What do you think of trends? How do you define personal style?

Do you think when designers like Alexander McQueen, Karl Lagerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent answered these questions, they’d have such iconic answers? Although my responses of “Burn camo studded sneaker wedges” or “You’ll never find me in a bandage dress” or “We have to wear clothes everyday so why not have fun with it?” will never be as known as these fashion icons, I hope at least one person will remember them (besides my mom or my boyfriend).

Thanks, It’s Custom

Every year around this time, I have to make that decision — to gift guide or not to gift guide? I myself struggle with finding the perfect gift so does that mean I have no authority to put these things together or I’m the perfect person to do so? Regardless, because I’ve never done a weekly gift guide (maybe one or two sprinkled throughout the last few holiday seasons), I decided that starting today you will get a gift guide on CCF every week until Christmas (and if you celebrate Hanukkah, you better get going).

Chi City Closet: The Accessories Clean Out

I wanted to make a little extra money for the holidays (I always try to out-do my gifts from the previous year) so what’s the easiest way to do that? Sell some accessories of course! I wore these once and it was on my 19th birthday. The one thing I remember when I wore these shoes is walking down Rush Street and a little girl asked me if I was Cinderella (I also happened to be wearing a Dior tiara…yes I admit it, I still own a Dior tiara).

I bought the very last Furla candy bag in the Chicago store over the summer and I was beyond excited to finally own one. It’s the only stylish bag I’ve come across to withstand the Chicago weather, but I think it’s time someone else has their Furla candy bag moment.

I bought these at Barneys in LA a few years ago. I for some reason never got around to wearing them. My philosophy is that if it’s been in my closet for over a year and I haven’t worn it…it’s time to move on.
