A few months ago I went to dinner with some friends and I was wearing pretty much this exact outfit (just a different cropped red sweatshirt, naturally). One friend sarcastically goes, “oh you couldn’t dress up for us?” I thought it was hilarious, as I’ve only been wearing sweatshirts (and sweatpants) this winter. But anything can be elevated with the right shoes (both literally and figuratively — re: heels).
Do you look at the glass half empty or half full? I’m not asking to gage your level of optimism…but it might determine how you see this jacket — half on or half off? Actually it doesn’t matter. What does matter is that THIS IS HOW WE ALL NEED TO BE WEARING OUTERWEAR NOW.
Among all the black and blush you’ve seen me wear as of late, I thought I’d change it up for a minute (and not just by adding some color…).

The fact that I’ve been had a blog called CHI CITY FASHION for over six years and have never written a post with this title is borderline embarrassing…but better late than never right? And just because you don’t live in Chicago doesn’t mean this can’t apply to you (but if you live in LA then the only reason to read this is to make yourself feel extra good about your decision to reside in Southern California).
