Curalist

Have you ever wanted to make your own list on Buzzfeed? Or perhaps create one-off Pinterest boards that you don’t feel like you have to update all the time? Well guess what? You really can have it all.

So I’m a little biased but I do have the solution to those problems. I’ve also been keeping a secret. For the last year or so, I’ve been working on a project with a few partners that I’m officially sharing with you today. If you’ve seen any links I’ve shared on Facebook or Twitter that involve curalist.co, that’s not just a random site. It’s actually my new site and it’s called Curalist. I like to explain it as a Pinterest meets Buzzfeed online publishing platform, where you create and curate lists (get it — Cura[ate]list?) in any topic that may interest you. Although I personally use it for fashion things, and most other people have too, it really can be for anything — beauty, travel, interiors, sports, food, entertainment. You name it. You can make a list about it on Curalist.

The idea came to me when I realized I read a lot of websites (mostly fashion news) on a daily basis and I come across several stories I want to share on Facebook and Twitter. Instead of sharing a link to every story on both platforms, I always wished there was a way to put those stories into one list so that way I could share just one link. And after many many months, Curalist was born.

Quickly I realized there was a lot more I could do with it. I could use it like I use other social platforms to promote content I post on ChiCityFashion. I also come across one-off things I want to write about and share with others but I don’t necessarily want to dedicate an entire blog post to them (like the Lottie Moss Red Valentino campaign or Adidas Originals by Mary Katrantzou). I’ve even posted about restaurants I want to try (and I still have two to go — Brindille and Endgrain, I’m coming for you). So, if you can put it in list form with images, then you can make a post on Curalist. It’s pretty easy.

So with that said, I love doing ChiCityFashion and whether it’s full-time (like it is now) or I end up somewhere else in the future, I’ll continue to post here no matter what. But I’ve been interested in the tech side of fashion as well as start-ups in general for a while now, so I’m hoping this is my chance to make an impact in that community. You know I rarely get serious on you, but I do hope you check out Curalist. I was actually debating for quite some time whether or not to make an official announcement about this here on CCF, but after a chat with my always-the-voice-of-reason friend Jessica (and this chat is public…it’s part of her One Part Podcast, and my episode happens to come out today) we both decided that I should do it. So that’s why you all get to hear about Curalist today. Surprise!

Of course, as these things go, it’s always a work in progress so feel free to send any feedback you might have to teamcuralist@gmail.com. We’d love to hear from you! You can sign up by visiting curalist.co (not .com…don’t forget it) and it will take you through how it works (pictured below). Hopefully that explains it well enough and if not, I’ll be expecting quite a feel emails in our Curalist inbox tomorrow 😉

If you need some inspiration for lists you might want to create, you can visit my Curalist profile and you can always see what other users are posting about on the main page. It works like a social site where you can follow, like and comment on lists so if you decide to create an account, you should probably follow me (okay fine PLEASE FOLLOW ME).

Happy listing, friends!
