What Why Where: Bringing Back The Flare

It’s been quite a while since I’ve worn any denim that doesn’t fall into the skinny, boyfriend or skinny boyfriend categories. I figured it’s about time to change things up…so why not do so with a little FLARE?

Not to mention, when’s the last time I wore shoes this high? (okay, fine…it was last night)

WHAT (am I wearing):
Coat: Rag & Bone. Top: Rag & BoneJeans: Rag & Bone. (Okay So I must really like Rag & Bone). SunglassesMargiela x MykitaShoes: Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony. Bag: M2MALLETIER. Bracelet: Paula Mendoza.

WHY (am I wearing it):
You know I don’t like to give into trends too much, but when there’s an option to make your legs look longer, simply by wearing a pair of jeans…I sort of couldn’t resist. Plus, I mentioned last month that I would be giving this a shot again, as the last time I did so was this time two years ago, and before that it was pretty much all of high school (before skinny jeans even existed…or at least got beyond the Emo crowd). Although it’s technically a trend on trend, I had to pair this look with some platforms as that’s just my go-to when it comes to this sort of pants silhouette. Now, did I mean for this to look like a Rag & Bone sponsored post when I was getting dressed the other day? Absolutely not. I guess their clothes just go so well together, I couldn’t help but wear it all at once. And side note, this post is in no way sponsored by Rag & Bone…I just dig Marcus and David, and even more now that I know Rag & Bone is coming to Chicago!

So if you’ve been wanting to pull off this type of denim and have “how to wear flare jeans” saved in your search history, I hope this helps. If not, perhaps this? If not, just think of all the bad things flares have gone through from roughly 2001 to 2008. Avoid that. And you should be golden.
