The Best Of Cold Weather Beauty

Every season, the second the weather changes for good, I notice a huge difference in my hair, skin and nails. I’ve always known you’re supposed to switch up your beauty routine according to the weather (at least for extreme hot and cold) but I don’t really think to do it until there’s a noticeable difference — like my nail polish not lasting more than three days because my nails are so dry, or my skin peeling like I just came back from a tropical vacation (which I unfortunately did not). Now I’m here today to give you the 411 so you don’t make the same mistakes I’ve done in the past. I’m finally learning and figuring out the best cold weather beauty products. I cant keep these secrets to myself, so here’s what you need to know.

A New Kind Of SS14

With summer approaching (weather depending of course) it’s not only time for some new wardrobe pieces (Printed shorts? Metallic sandals? Impractical sunnies?) but also time to revisit the skincare department. As temperatures rise, it becomes less comfortable to wear a face full of makeup. And with a good foundation (and I don’t mean liquid or powder) you won’t have to.

SS14 typically refers to the Spring/Summer 2014 collections but today we’re giving it a whole new meaning — Summer Skin 2014 (after all, having good skin is always in fashion).

July Beautified

I hate to make another one of those “beauty obsessions” posts (I’m sure you see plenty) but I’ve been trying a lot of new products lately and I haven’t done a beauty post in a while, so I thought I’d give it a go. This isn’t necessarily a summer beauty feature (these products are great now as well as year round) but because it’s July which means summer is in full swing (although that’s questionable in Chicago) it’s time to get your July beautified.

Let’s Get Pretty

As much as I joke about New Years resolutions, the ones I posted earlier this week are sort of true. They are things I’d like to accomplish but if it doesn’t all happen in 2013 I’m not going to freak out about it (plus I know I’m going to have difficulty with resolution 4).

So let’s take baby steps and visit resolution 2: up the beauty routine.
